Their life motto is float, snack, sunbathe, repeat. If they are not floating, they are looking for fish or sunbathing on a rock all day long. And when they are in the mood, they make the most dramatic squeaky noises. Let them talk about emotional wellness.
But still, they manage to look adorable with their giant eyes and their lovely whiskers. Their facial expression looks like a kid who begs you for candy. Innocent, mildly confused, and cute. Which, frankly, is a winning combination. They could get away with anything when they put that face on.

There's no pressure to be productive in a seal's life. They have no complicated plans in the ocean. If they are hungry, they eat. If they feel like swimming, they swim. If they feel like making a loud noise for no reason, they just do it. If they don't want to move, they just don't; they stay on a rock for hours and call it a day.

There's something we could learn from seals… They don't feel guilty for resting. Maybe this is a reminder someone needs to hear. Sometimes, the most productive thing you can do is nothing. Just lie on a comfortable surface and exist. Like seals, don't wonder whether you should be doing something “more useful”. Let yourself recharge energy until you're ready to face another day.
So if you needed permission to rest today, consider this your seal-approved excuse to rest this weekend and master work-life balance while flopping dramatically and doing absolutely nothing.
